Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to navigate his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the tutelage of his father, Harry. Christian Slater is older than James Remar when Dexter (2006) first airs. In episode 4, Blockbuster employee Deb and her boyfriend meet in uniform wearing a navy blue short-sleeved shirt. In 1991, employees wore light blue long-sleeved shirts. Short sleeves weren’t worn until 4-5 years later. Dexter: Resurrection (2025) followed. Dexter is easily one of my favorite TV shows of all time, and one of the few shows I can watch multiple times without getting bored. I have a hard time putting into words how much I loved the original show. The only thing that’s not good about it is the ending. While the ending was pretty bad, it doesn’t take away from how good the show is overall. So I was really looking forward to Dexter: Original Sin and it didn’t disappoint. Patrick Gibson, who plays the young Dexter Morgan, absolutely kills it, as does the rest of the cast. It’s a must-see for any Dexter fan.
